Entertainment Media Internship — GLAAD (Summer 2017)
During the summer of 2017, I was granted the opportunity to move to Los Angeles for the summer and work as an Entertainment Media intern at GLAAD's LA office. GLAAD is the nation's largest LGBTQ media advocacy organization and works to accelerate acceptance of LGBTQ individuals through fair and accurate representation in the media. As an Entertainment Media intern, my responsibilities included watching and analyzing TV shows like Kingdom (Audience), The Night Shift (NBC), and Midnight, Texas (NBC) for their portrayal of LGBTQ characters, writing about entertainment news and topics in LGBTQ representation for the GLAAD blog, and helping to conduct research for GLAAD's Where We Are On TV report and other assorted projects.
