I'm Palmer Haasch, a media-savvy entertainment journalist with a deep understanding of fan communities and the social media fluency to navigate them. I'm an English and French Studies double major in my final year at the University of Minnesota as well as a writer, LGBTQ advocate, and fan. I specialize in cartoons, anime, K-pop, and internet culture.
After working as an editorial intern at Polygon, I've got experience covering not only video games and entertainment but the culture surrounding them. With an internship and further work at GLAAD under my belt, I'm more than comfortable handling LGBTQ topics and discussing representation. I've been able to further shape my voice through opinion writing during my tenure as a columnist at the Minnesota Daily.
When I'm not writing for work, I'm writing music, working on my thesis (it's on intertextuality, fanfiction, and fandom), and writing for fun. When I'm not writing, I'm bingeing my current favorite anime, rewatching my favorite cartoons, and carefully crafting Twitter threads.
