Hello.

I'm Palmer Haasch, an early-career entertainment & culture journalist. Currently, I work as a temporary entertainment writer at Thrillist, but I'm in the market for a full-time position in New York City and am open for freelance work!

In the past, I've worked as an editorial intern at Vox Media's Polygon, a Lead Junior Editor and entertainment media intern at GLAAD, and a columnist at The Minnesota Daily. I'm well-trained in sourcing out quick news hits in the world of entertainment, and have written reports on topics like Real Person Fanfiction in HBO's Euphoria and Lil Nas X's legendary Billboard chart run. My primary beats are TV, anime, fandom, and internet culture, but I also have experience covering movies, video games, and pop culture.

Education-wise, I graduated summa cum laude from the University of Minnesota — Twin Cities with a B.A. in English and French Studies (I speak fluent French) and a minor in Political Science. During my senior year, I conducted original research on the significance of Real Person Fanfiction in K-pop fan communities and received the Mark David Clawson Thesis Prize in English.

Check out some of my work and clips below, and feel free to reach out with any questions!
