Hello.

I'm Palmer Haasch, an early-career entertainment & culture journalist. I specialize in cartoons, anime, as well as fandom and internet culture. I've previously worked as an editorial intern at Polygon and an entertainment media intern at GLAAD, and I am an alumni of NLGJA's 2018 Connect Student Journalism project. I'm currently a staff columnist at the Minnesota Daily and a GLAAD campus ambassador.

I'm Minneapolis-based and in my final year as an undergrad at the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities. This May I'll graduate with a Bachelor of Arts in English and French Studies with a minor in Political Science.

I'm currently working a summa cum laude level Latin Honors thesis project in the English department. My thesis is an investigation of character archetypes in real-person fanfiction and their significance in fandom; I utilize fanfiction about Korean boy band BTS as a case study.

When I'm not writing for work, I'm writing music, writing my thesis, and writing for fun. When I'm not writing, I'm bingeing the latest animated Netflix Original, rewatching my favorite cartoons, and carefully crafting Twitter threads.
